I first joined your family March 25, 1999 at 2:30 a.m. (Funny how you remember your first isn't it). I then spent the next 2 weeks getting hit everynight between 2 and 4 a.m. (Oddly enough I took a 2 day trip to L.A. and had no H.A., came back home and BOOM got my 2:00 wake up call. I finally went to the doc, was diagnosed that day (an amazing act of God compared to some of your horror stories), was given Verapamil (80mg) and have been taking that nightly for the last three weeks. Over the last 3 weeks, I have been taking the Verapamil and 3 Anacin between 12:00 and 1:00 a.m. when I go to bed. On EVERY night when I did NOT take the Anacin, I got H.A.'s.
On only four occassions when I took this mix, I did get H.A.'s, but tow of those were so mild they woke me up and let me go right back to sleep within minutes. Both of those mild annoyances were in the last week. On Wednesday I took my Verapamil and only 2 Anacin - no H.A. On Thursday I took the Verapamil and NO Anacin - No H.A. Last night I took NOTHING - No H.A.
For those of you who are episodic (or remember when you were, does this sound typical of the end of a cycle? Should I finish off my final 8 days of Verapamil on my perscription or should I lay off and see what happens (I'm a bit nervous that perhaps I am living off of the build up and when that depletes I will get hit again - would prefer to avoid that).
Any comments? -insights? -wisdom?
I have a call in to my neurologist but he did not call back (big surprise I know)
Enjoy the free time...
Brian M
