The proper way to take Prednisone is to start high then taper off slowly. Start at 80mg daily for two weeks then cut the daily dose 10mg each week thereafter. You need the shock effect of the initial high dose. Starting at anything lower will cause you to rot at that level and never be able to get off until your session is entirely over. The side effects are terrible if Prednisone is used more than two months. Lithium is a good long term drug. Sansert(Methysergide) can be taken for only six months.
