First off you are NO alone in anyway...your story is the same as many here...as you may know..

AS for the disability stuff... check into the social security disability...START NOW FILL out the forms etc and get it in ASAP!!! you can still work up and earn up to I think it is now $750.00 a month before taxes and qualify...Don't worry if you are denied the first "round" keep plugging away and go through the steps it is totally NORMAL to be denied the first and even second time..just be patient...BUT START the ball NOW!!!

Second... There is also the Family medical leave act...call the labor department for information on this...you can take it for your own medical leave and also family..think it is 3 months worth and they can't fire you for it at your job...Don't remember all the details..but may also be on the internet etc..I got the info from the Labor Department...

Third... Your medical insurance even if you are fired..will still be in effect..you will go into the employer and tell them you want it under COBRA..I got this information from the labor department to...they have to keep you on their company insurance for up to 18 months, I believe..you will have to pay the full price..but eg: you have BCBS at work..and go on COBRA, you can also go the the BCBS office and file your own policy and they HAVE TO TAKE YOU PROVIDING YOU DON"T LET THE COVERAGE LAPS!!! that is important..if your employer give you any crap about the COBRA or the Family medical leave act..contact the labor department...just a quick phone call and they can answer all your questions about these and send you information and also a little complaint form to file if needed...

For myself I found out that getting my insurance from COBRA was good but I didn't know that I could also contact that insurance company and get my OWN POLICY!! and that they HAD to continue coverage ...which ultimately turned out about $10.00 cheaper than what I was paying for that COBRA coverage...

any questions feel free to contact me..I have been their and done that...i can also help you fill out the social security forms if need be...so if I can help just give me a holler...

BIG HUGG TO YOU!!! hang in their..things seem to look bad and have a way of working out..especially when you look back years from now..you will see the reason and the plan for this time in your life...

As for the Hubby...Won't go their...LOL..

Again best of luck and e-mail me anytime... Jackie L.
