Your inquiry raises the question, and I believe it has been a topic at this site in the past: Does alcoholism or addiction cause CH? Or is there a link between these maladies-susceptibilty, genetic programming etc.
Or quite possibly, maybe the reverse is true. Maybe these sons of bitches DRIVE people to drugs and alcohol?
When I was diag as Episodoc CH in '85 I took a MMP (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality) test, and the doc inquired if I was addicted to anything.
After much open honest discussion he concluded that indicator in the test was probably caused by my fathers alcoholism, and my awareness to it.
Or, he said, you have addictive personality.
Either way, he concluded that NO past history of abuses of any kind in any way lead to this VASCULAR condition.
If you are doing serious research, which I sincerely hope is aimed at finding a cure for this, check out all his research, His name is Dr. Lee Kudrow,if not, you are SERIOUSLY barking up the wrong tree.
Recently a so called freind made the observation that most CH sufferers are the stereotypical male smoker/drinker. With that sly eyed ever so politely implied "You caused this".
I posed the thought: Maybe I am attempting to hasten my departure from this pain ridden world in which I live.
Until you enter the realm of this pain, you will never have a clue what all these folks are going through.
If your intentions are any less then doing something substantial to help us, I suggest you find a different forum to do your "research"!
