First off, a disclaimer - I've never tried Neurontin.

But, those on this board and in chat who have take neurontin in conjuction with verapamil, not as a replacement. Verap works great for many, but doesn't completely kill the Demon for others. They add either lithium or neurontin, play with both doses for a few weeks, and (usually) eventually find the proper mix to either hold the Demon at bay (usually episodics) or tame him to manageable levels (usually chronics).

Yes, there is always a percentage for whom any given treatment doesn't work, and there is usually also a (smaller) percentage for whom any given treatment seems to make things worse. The bottom line is that you need to read everything available on this site and try, try, try. Don't ever quit anything on the say so of one or two people. You never know if you are the exception.

Naturally, this isn't intended to apply to magic magnets, surrealistic stones or any other mystical treatment.
