I had chest pains with Zomig, which is one of the reasons why they never have given me imitrex.

I am now on oxygen and verapamil, though I am guessing that the verapamil dosage needs to be upped, since I am now getting 1 extra headache a day.

Oxygen does not keep the headaches from coming, but they do abort it for me after about 15 to 20 minutes. And it's not a pill and it is not addictive.

However, that is how I react to it, it may not work for you. My suggestion is that you call your PCP and demand a referral to a neurologist on an asap basis. Then call the neurologist and say that you need to be seen on an asap basis. Do not take "there are no appointments free this month." Most neurologist leave room in their schedules for emergency situations. This is an emergency. See what the Neurologist suggests. 02 is much cheaper than zomig or imitrex, so there should not be a problem with prescribing it, and if your insurance is about to run out, it will probably be much cheaper for you to maintain by paying for it out of pocket.

Good luck, hang in there buddy. I am having a headachy day too and I am crabby about it as well.
