My husband has been a severe chronic sufferer for years and verapamil is one of the many meds he has tried along with lithium. Neither of these meds together or separately even touched the pain.He gave these meds a couple of months trial. He has a wonderful neurologist who was willing to try anything and everything to get him some relief. They hit upon the drugs neurotin as his daily maintenance drug and esgic plus/marten tabs for the actual attacks (one is caffeinated, one not). This has been the best combination he has had to date, although still not painfree. He has used 100% 02 for 30 minutes and this has been a great help. Stops the pain but not tried to prevent yet.
