I too suffered 21 years with chronic CH. Sometimes too many attacks in one day to even count them. 18 months ago I started on Vioxx (primarily a drug for osteoarthritis, which I do not have). For 30 days I took one, 25 mg tablet daily, then I went to one, 12.5 mg tablet daily. Haven't had ANY headaches in 18 months and I don't take any other medications! Surgery is always a radical solution and, judging from the other follow-up posts, the GK procedure is particularly dangerous. Please, talk to your doctor about Vioxx. It might work for you as well.
