Last December I was ferociously attacked by my cluster headaches. I spent Christmas eve in the local emergency room in severe pain. Later, I sought relief from my physician. Since then, his treatment of me has been nothing short of a miracle. He started with Prednizone. I am now taking 120 mg. of Verapamil two times daily. He also prescribed Imitrex (nasal variety) mfg. by Glaxo-Smith Cline. At the first sign of a headache, I spray Imitrex into the nostrel on the side of the headache. It "always" lessens the severity of the headache and in most cases the symptoms disappear within less than 30 minutes. I hope this helps the rest of you.
