I believe it, Bryan. You're really onto something which works. I used an even more radical program.

No alcohol, drinking only water, lots and lots of water.
Eating only yogurt (easily digested protein source) and fresh fruit (for fiber and vitamins), interspersed with 24 hour fasts if I got hit.
No meds other than occasional OTC analgesics, melatonin before bedtime, and plenty of B vitamin supplements.
Intensive hyperventilation at the very first sign of a hit, which usually aborted the bastard.
Exercise. Walked at least a mile every day. Not good to vegetate (might get rooted to the couch or something).

When I started this, the hits got more and more infrequent, maybe once every couple of days, and never worse than a 6. My cycle has broken (it was due to stop anyway about this time), but the beast left with a whimper instead of his usual bang. As a fringe benefit, I lost a lot of lard and feel terrific! Now I can (hopefully) look forward to 3 years PF, and I know what to do next time. I'm really glad that you're also better, Bryan, and thanks for sharing.
