I'm chronic, and haven't been able to find anything to prevent daily Pain. After some promising posts about it, my doc and I decided to give neurontin a try. Began building up to 1800mg/day, but at 1200 for a week and 1500 for a week, the attacks continued stronger and longer than ever. So I had to taper off gradually, which sucked. I finally hurried the process myself, and am now neurontin-free, and back where I started. Sigh.
