We took off for a three week trip through Georgia, Carolina, Virginia and Maryland after the Convention, so only arrived home in the UK on Thursday the 19th, hence the lateness of this post. It was great fun meeting all the guys and gals from this message board at the Convention. Have to confess though that Riccardo wasn't the only European having trouble understanding some of the accents! I could have listened to Nancy and Elaine's beautiful Southern drawl for hours, also Barb's Texan 'twang' - and John and I were just fascinated listening to Ken from Alabama when he spoke. (Sorry Ken, you must think we're both thick Brits from the lack of intelligent conversation you got back from us, but in truth we only caught about every fourth word you said!).
We have warm memories of all the lovely people we met in Atlanta - most of whom I managed to get on video so I can 'introduce' you to Simon, MOB, Chris and Susi (the other OUCH UK Trustees) when we have our next meeting in August.
We had to stay on in Atlanta for an extra couple of days due to John's illness (didn't seem a good idea for him to try and drive the first 400 miles on the 'wrong' side of the road whilst unable to sit or stand up without falling over and being violently sick!) He's now fully recovered from whatever virus it was. Unfortunately I have gone in to my yearly cycle of CH with a vengeance - this kicked off 8 days into our holiday after sitting for too long on a beach soaking up your Carolina sunshine....
Our thanks to everyone concerned for all their hard work in putting together the Annual Convention - especially Elaine and Todd. Hopefully we can meet up with you all again at the next one in Canada 2002.
Mo and John Graham
