I am chronic, and I had to keep ajusting my does till I hit on the right dose. It does take a couple of weeks to get into your system. If it does not work ask your doctor about uping the dose. I still have clusters but no where near as many nor as bad. Sometimes a bad one will break through and I reach for my imitrex but I love my verapmil. I hope it never stops working for me.
Give it some time and play with the does before you give up on it. Get yourself some Imitrex to use if you do get hit. It works for most of us.
