I myself have not taken depakote, but a nurse at work is on it for her migraine's and she said it works well for her. Just to let you know it's a taper on taper off med and you need to have your blood level checked to make sure you are not above normal blood limits. The standard starting dose is 250 mg BID and can build up to 1000 mg per day. Good luck with your new med and make sure you talk to your doctor about some of the hazards of taking it, it can led to liver problems.
