I sent an email to Shelley as well, but I thought I'd post this for posterity.
My doc's Michelle Haroldson with Presb. on Wyoming, and she's been great. When I moved down here and was looking for a doc I phoned her up and said I was coming in for Cluster meds. She admitted she knew little about them, but when I showed up she had a folder full of photocopies and book excerpts on the topic. She gave me a copy, and jumped right in eager to find a good preventative med. We've started on verapamil (I've never tried a prophylactic med for clusters, so I have nothing to compare it to). I don't know whether it's working or not, quite frankly. I've been on it for a week now (just started taking it near the end of my cycle last year), and things seem to be subsiding, but then again I haven't had a drink in 5 days so that might also be helping.
For additional info, there is also reputedly a great neurologist a Univ. New Mex. that is a headache specialist. I was going to go directly to him if I had any grief with my GP.
