Oxycontin is highly addictive, not merely habit forming. A report released today states that withdrawal is as difficult as from heroin.
You say you've tried "almost every beta blocker". Beta blockers are effective for migraines, but not for CH. Only calcium channel blockers work for some clusterheads. And they generally require a 'cocktail', such as verapamil and neurontin or verap and lithium. The doses of both have to be adjusted until efficacy is achieved. It's a long, drawn out, trial and error process, but well worth it in the long run.
Two oxy's per day likely keep you buzzed up 24/7, to treat a pain that typically lasts no more than an hour. Not a great tradeoff, IMHO.
