I place the thing on my arm between the place where my bicep and tricep meet... it's not as sensitive as hittin' directly into a muscle. Then, I push rather hard against the trigger. The pressure from the statdose pen against my arm masks the sensation of the needle (it's so small and hardly noticeable) penetrating the skin. Or, give the injections to someone else who will use them, and try to get the inhalers or pills...they're not as effective, though. Once you do it the first time, it gets easier and easier.
