Looking for advice.
I'm off to my see my general practitioner this afternoon to see about getting some different painkillers. Problem is, until i have been diagnosed with CH (I see Dr Goadsby in London in three weeks) , my GP won't prescibe any treatment designed for the problem. This means I am going through hell every night, though the Naratriptan 2.5mg tabs I got when the head trouble was diagnosed as migraine have helped, especially if I keep myself awake til midnight or so, then take one with a codeine. When I do this the 3am's seem to last 20 or 25 mins rather than 45.
Anyway, I'm going to get some more of the triptans, but does anyone know of a more effective painkiller than the codeines and coproxamol tabs that the GP is willing to prescribe, but don't work much. The good side is that they help me go back to sleep after an attack! I want to put pressure on my GP but I don't want to piss her off as I need all the help I can get. She's already pretty frosty with her since I booked appointments with specialists without her referral...
PS Dr Pepper not prescribed in UK!
Peace to all sufferers
