Actually, if they give you the tubes (cannules), trash them. Most people need a NON-rebreather mask to get O2 to work the best for CH.
10 minutes is usually the least amount of time you want to use O2 but whenever the relief comes, you'll know, whether it's longer or shorter. Bruce is right about his precautions on overusing it though. There is suspicion that it can damge your lungs, which is why you don't want to sleep with it going. Although I have a number of times.
Medical and welding O2 are the same and neither contain the impurities. It's used welding tanks you don't want to use because they contain the impurities. Never-before-used welding tanks are as safe as any medical tank though.
