go to "tools" on your browser, click on "Internet Options", then Security. Set level at "medium" and JAVA will be enabled. Just be darned careful what you click on, such as exe. files received through e-mail.
If this doesn't work, there's a little more complicated way to do this. Let me know if the above works.
