He has Moya Moya disease. The artery feeding that side of his brain was closing off.
They cut a hole in his skull over the blocked artery. Then they grabbed that vein that stands out in your forehead when you get pissed and pulled it over to the hole and connected it the blocked artery to feed blood to his brain.
