Well, I’m not on preventative meds for 2 reasons. Alto I am above average intelligence I am also learning disabled (dyslexia and mild ADD) my job as a graphic designer requires me to be very on top of things as it is all based on deadlines and precision. So I already work at a disadvantage. Any med that makes me "spacey" or "out of it" puts me in further jeopardy of not being able to keep up with my work which is already difficult for me.

The 2 preventive meds I have tried in the past (I'd need to look at my notes for the names) had unacceptable side effects for me. Others might be able to cope with side effects better but I cant.

Secondly, I am terrified of changing my pattern as it is now I feel I have a sweet deal because I don't usually get bad ones during working hours. Sometimes I take Meds and its like the Cluster waits for the med to wear off and I get a screamer off schedule.

So what I have been doing is avoiding Meds altogether and "Dealing with it" but as you may have guessed I am not dealing with it as well, this cycle.

My dream Med would be an abortive that worked and didn’t cause rebounds. I would not mind being driven awake nightly if there was some way I could stop them. I don't know, maybe I should try a new preventative med.

Thanks for your advice; I'll look into Topamax

Doc.
