After a phone call (I did it for a US CH), yesterday I was been contacted again from Doctor Massimo Leone (Besta Institute, Milan).
For those that do not know him, he is the neurosurgeon that invented the procedure of putting an electrode in the hypotalamus area of brain, to give relief to CH chronics.
At this time he has done 4 surgeries, and all 4 patients have had complete remission from that time! He has (scheduled) many other operations, and he is in contact with Mayo Clinic in USA and -HEAR,HEAR!- knows Doc Goadsby in UK, and was a speakerman in many Goadsby meetings and Conventions (the last on suicide). Furthermore, Dr. Goadsby has planned to send to him some UK patients, and some will arrive also from Mayo in US.
Despite the fact this procedure is at the experimental state, it start to be a fixed point in chronics treatment.
He will publish in the next months on the famous NEJM medical journal his work. I will publish it on my site (english and italian) immediately after.
