Hi,
Can I ask you if you have already applied for Social Security? If not, it's never to early to start finding out just what you'll be paid and have the information ready for when you do decide to use it.
At 64, within the year you'll be elligible for Medicare. This will only help a little, and I'd expect you'll need additional coverage considering your health history.
You may want to check out AFLAC as a possibility of extra coverage. (www.aflac.com)
This would at least give you an idea of the types of that needed extra coverage Medicare won't cover. You can have Medicare send you information on just what your medical benefits will entail also. There are many more such companies, but take a look at their site, and I think it will give you ideas on how to look for options you may have and could afford.
Best of luck,
Dave
