Didnt you say you were using a Mac? Let me try to stop some of this virus insanity......
99.9% of all viruses out on the internet are written for Windows and can NOT be opened by the Macintosh. The Mac can`t be infected by a file or program that it cant open and read.
Code Red,SirCam,I love You virus.... etc....are all perfect examples of this fact.
The people who write viruses are focusing their attention on Windows software because it`s the operating system of choice by corporations,the govt and other institutions. 80% of the general public is also using Windows and they end up getting infecting by these viruses as they invade the internet.
Mac users can ignore all of the virus hysteria they hear about on the news,message boards and chat rooms. You can check this out at MacFixIt.com if you dont believe me.
I`m a Mac technician and have been using and troubleshooting Macs for ten years. In all these years I`ve only seen one virus that was a possible threat to the Mac and it was quickly eliminated.
