I keep a headband beside the bed and when one hits in the middle of the night I grab the headband and put it on before I get out of bed. Then I grab the O2 and put on the coffee. It's a trick trying to drink coffee and suck O2, but with practice IT CAN BE DONE. Execdrin Xtra Strength (3 of them) sometimes works with the coffee. - I know to you non-believers, but it has cafine in it also.
A lot of times this will abort the headache, but if it doesn't I grab the cafagot and phenergan (it's just not worth going thru the pain when I can take something to stop it).
I have a very long hose on my O2 tank and am pacing the whole time I'm waiting for the demon to go away, and sometimes try the computer, but sometimes can't sit still long enough to even get to this site. If the pain gets to an 8 or 9, I'm finding places to bang my head, but most of the time now I can abort them before that.
Wish you luck in finding your "coping" tools. We all know the hell you're going through. But remember - you can't help it so don't feel guilty. None of us would be going through this if we had a choice. Tell your family to contact Margi.
