I have fought my cluster headaches for years. I've had them since I was a child. I'm now 47 years old. I was getting at least 1 each day, usually when I woke up. I've tried beta blockers, antidepressants, biofeedback, change in diet, but with no success. My family practitioner treated me, my neurologist treated me, but the only relief I had was Imitrex. Unfortunately, my stupid HMO would only allow me 8 pills a month, so my out-of-pocket was about $400-600 per month for Imitrex. I finally switched family practitioners, and my new physician put me on Neurontin. That did it! I have not had a serious headache in 2 months. Praise God! I feel like I have a new lease on life. My HMO fully covers my Neurontin, with a copay, so I'm saving thousands. If your headaches are like mine (behind one eye or the other), you should try this! It really works!
