Not a good idea. It is impossible to eyeball it accurately. Scales are relatively inexpensive and easy to find. If you don't want to wait until you can find a decent scale, you can rig up some kind of cheesy home made balance beam out of a section of coat hanger suspended in the middle by a string with a baggie hooked to each end. Adjust the position of the string until it hangs level.

In one baggie put your weights, in the other baggie put the mushroom bits. For weights, use vitamin pills. A 250 mg vitamin C pill weighs a quarter of a gram. A 500 mg vitamin C pill weighs half a gram. A 1000 mg pill weighs one gram. Simple.

I don't recommend doing more than 2.5 grams for a first dose. Depending on your tolerance to psilocybin and the potency of the mushrooms, even 1.0 gram may be enough. The idea is to aim for whatever is necessary to produce a "level 1" or "level 2" trip. For most people this will be somewhere around 1.5 to 2.0 grams of COMPLETELY DRY psilocyve cubensis mushrooms.
