Some docs prescribe it without a care as to whether you get hooked for life or not. You cannot withdraw without help.
There is now a class-action suit in process against the makers of OxyContin, by people who used it innocently for pain and their docs just kept on preseribing it and increasing the dosage.
This is one drug that you will probably keep increasing in strength to maintain the same results and over a period of time, you may have a $500.00 plus per month habit.
