The lexicographers of old must be rolling in their graves… fuck used to be perfectly acceptable until the victorian era, and it’s meant what it always has meant. Folk lore suggested that it once meant “for unlawful carnal knowledge” but that, too is a myth.

For some to decide that a random arrangement of characters is “obscene”, blasphemous, unacceptable, or acceptable for that matter is ludicrous. I find words adjusted so as to conform to some prescribed standard just as offensive as how others find the words these pseudonyms were meant to obscure. But, that’s just my opinion. The First Amendment (on my home soil) is great.

If we can’t be ourselves, here, where can we?

My daughter of 7 yrs once said “damn” in public. I gave her a hard time, not because of what she said, but where she said it. “It’s just a word,” I told her, ”but some people aren’t big enough to overlook a slip of the tongue {or pen - or keystroke)”.
