I've been taking verapimil for everyday for the last 7 months. There are very few and minor side effects, which is why it is commonly used for clusterhead. To the best of my knowledge, there should be no reason that you are not taking the verap anymore. I'm no doctor but I do know it only causes me some plumbing problems. As far as predisone, you shouldnt be taking it too often. I do not recall hearing the needles extending a cycle but you never know. Good luck!
