I agree and disagree, during 28 yrs of CH, the regularity (every year or so) has slowly gone down - and now I have had a break for nearly 3 years, a blessing. However the severity and duration has not changed in the slightest, in fact it used to be at 21.00 hrs exactly each night for 2 1/2 months and lasted for 2 1/2 to 3 hrs ....... now for the first time it is up to three times a day - where the one between 23.00 - 01.00 hrs the killer is, it kills as you can't sleep and wake up with next to no sleep, only to be confronted with another attack at 15.00 hrs.
Fortunately I have been a frequent visitor here on this site, so when the devil started announcing his arrival - "gentle knocking around the always left eye and temple" - I was fully prepared and approached a new doctor - and "told" him what I had and "suggested" that he prescribe imitrex/imigran injections, which he did without question once he satisfied himself the symptons I described fitted. And to my amazement the effect is unbelievable - 5-10 mins later - the world is a truly great place to be again. He gave me Zomig for the day attacks and I use the injection at nites - when a quick result is for me more desirable.
So from an old hand - it seems as though this beast NEVER EVER gives up, and no there is no mercy from him .... at over 50 yrs old and after 28 years of this ..... and I cannot count how many diagnoses and pills medicines teeth jobs sinusses hospitalisation scans photos etcetc, count yourself lucky that this site is here, and keep in touch.
