I can see why you would ask that question, trip.
To the best of my knowledge the only medication used for quite some time was oxygen. I had considerable correspondence with the author of this post before receiving permission to post the diary, so i know the history well. Since none of the accustomed preventatives and abortives gave much help, it was not that much of a stretch to "detox" completely for weeks before trying the mushrooms.
Note, however, that the third dose, even though it was the smallest, produced the best results. It is quite possible that back of The Beast has finally been broken, and that a fourth dose may produce either complete relief or a lengthier remission between doses.
Chronics normally have to take two or more doses for the full benefits to be realized. Our chronic friend Henk, from Holland, has been getting stretches of only to 10 to 14 days before having to dose again.
Even some episodics, such as Shelley's husband, have had to take several doses. Bob Wold had to take several doses over a period of a month (although much of the delay in his case was due to lack of available mushrooms) to kill The Beast completely.
And, that reminds me, trip, how are you coming along with your treatments? It's about time for an update!
