the "made it possible for all of us to come together in our search for help" meant that he is the founder of this site. And the "keeps this site going" meant that for the first couple of years, if not still today, he footed the bill for the service provider and host.
After that, I think the "us" and we" signify all of our participation.
I think that DJ deserves a hell of a lot of credit as without his initiation, several OUCH sites may never even have been thought of.
