Hey carl..i too am 36 and got my first attack at 19..every year since then usually 2 or 3 cycles per year...what you decribe sounds like ch to me..do you have any pre-headache sensations? While i agree with Barney, I have experienced nausea with the really intense ones..and frequently sweat terribly while acute. I am curious how long the attacks last and how long the cycle lasts...if you are so unfortunate to have clusters i am sorry...but i think you've just found a home...read as much as you can..we've been through it all and you can save a lot of time and money (on docs that don't know their ass from a CH) but most importantly, we can help you manage your pain..your wife may also find the site a good resource as many supporters wander these halls...and remember..there are no stupid questions....only stupid people :)..geoff
