I also had the same surgery. Dr. Wayne HURT did mine. He trained under Dr. Sweet. Unfortunately the surgery was not a success on me and my headaches came back after about a month. My optical nerve was damaged (one of the risks I knew about but took the risk).

I am also numb on the left side and experience some burning on that side of the face as well as vision problems.

Since the surgery, I've begun taking Topamax and have been in remission from the headaches and am now living a "fairly" normal life.

There are risks with everything we do for these darn headaches, but being chronic we'll take the risks. Anything beats the pain.

There aren't that many of us that go chronic and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy (except maybe Bin Laden)but the surgery is a LAST resort. I've heard of more failures than sucess stories with it. Read the archives on it.

Love ya. BD
