I have had a sezuire disorder since the age of 15. I have been on depakote for the last 4 years. It truly is an ant-sezuire drug. You do have to monitor youe blood levels. My suggestion..Take your son to a childrens hospital that has a clinic for epilepsy. It will make you feel better to know that you are doing all you can and the best treatment available. I went to a specialty hospital at the age of 35!!!
Also I have a college degree. I work in an administrative position, and I have 3 healthy children! It's not the end of the world. Just keep on top of things and new medicines.
hope all works out for you and your son.
I still get terrible cluster headaches on depakote. I think the side effects may be different in a small shild
