My husband has suffered from CH for 3 years now. He usually has two to three attacks a day for exactly 21 days, two to three times a year. He can live with the attacks, but it's the everyday headache, in-between attacks that wear him down and prevent him from working. During the 21 day cycle, he has a CONSTANT 4-5 kip headache 24 hours a day. He's tried everything to lessen the everyday headache, but nothing works. (He's currently on verapmil, depakote, prednisone, sansert and indomethicin. He's tried everything else - imitrix, oxygen, lithium, intranasal lidocine, methosergide, ergotamine - you name it and he's tried it!)
Yesterday, his doctor basically said there's nothing he can do for the everyday headaches and has referred him to Mayo Clinic. (We're on our 5th doctor.) My question for the group... do you experience these types of everyday headaches? The doctor acted as if they were unusual and so far, no one has been able to treat them. He even questioned whether or not Craig was really a clusterhead. He mentioned CPH and I'm doing my research on that now. But in the meantime, I wonder whether or not everyday headaches are common and are they treatable?
