The pred seems to be doing its job - slept through the night every night since started taking pred; h/a number is down to 2 to 4 per day; intensity is at 3 or below today! I'm psyched! Perhaps it won't last - it's nice to have a bit of a break. As for side effects, both the normal and unusual: truly excessive crabbiness (cats purring too loudly? that's a little over the edge...); muscle weakness (though it is a good excuse for not cleaning or doing laundry); decreased appetite for and appeal of sweets (truly bizarre!!); increased appetite for red meat such as rare roast beef and corned beef. No beard growing yet :)As always, life is interesting. Wishing you all pfdan! Elizabeth
