health information technology. I was in ALL the same classes as the (RN) candidates from A&P through Pathophys. Obviously, I did not do their practicums as I had my own to do. Then got a bachelor's in health information management, then an MBA in Leadership. After 20 years running medical record/health information departments, I now have my own business coding patient's records so hospitals can get paid by the insurance companies. It is very involved and one must has an intimate knowledge of drugs, A&P, disease process, as well as classification systems and medical nomenclatures
