Had been on verapamil that worked for 10 years until this fall. Then over the past 3 weeks have been on vicodin, percocet, indomethacin, increased verap. - all of which did not work. Went to a new neuro 2 days ago and he put me on 300 mgs. lithium tid and the turnaround has been amazing! I have only had on very minor CH, that I blasted with 02 and it left pronto (see my post near the top). He started the lithium "big guns" as he described it rather than building it up. I am so thankful. What type of drug is topomax? Neuro told me we might try catapres too.
Good thing some of us like patient care and some like paperwork, eh?!! ;) Again, my apologies for being somewhat "less than cordial". If this lithium ever fails or fails the next time I go on it (the plan is to take me off it when my cycle is over - probably sometime after the light starts increasing on 12/22) I'll take you up on your offer for more details on topomax.
