There have been a few clinical trials reported here over the last couple of years reporting this correlation.

The underlying hypothesis is that low oxygen blood levels, arising from the apnea, triggers a CH.

If you find this occurs with some regularity, you might ask your doc about using 2mg Ergomar about one-hour before bedtime. Some folks find this prevents or significantly reduces attacks while sleeping.
