150 mg Demerol and 25 mg Vistaril shot in the butt. They make sure you have a driver as in about 20 minutes, you will be out like a light and pain free.Not sure what else they can do, they have O2, but I have that at home, normally it's rushed and not the time to discuss medication alternatives.Nurse usually makes the comment, "you must be in pain, you didn't even twitch when I gave you the shot."Been quite awhile since I was in ER, learned other ways to control this beast.
