The official literature will tell you not to mix triptans. Don't take two triptans or triptans and ergots within 24 hours of each other. The risk is cardiac problems. I have shot Imitrex at night and then taken amerge the following day.
The Amerge has a half life of 6 hours compared to 2 hours for Imitrex so it stays in your system much longer. I found that taking a tab of Amerge before I went to bed would let me get 5 or 6 hours of uniterrupted sleep.
