If you go looking for Melatonin - try to get the stuff that doesn't contain a whole lot of other additives. You'll usually find that most store brands contain a slug of B6, Calcium Carbonate, etc. All you want is Melatonin...period. There are pharmaceutical(sp) grade brands available on the internet - also your doctor could probably get in touch with a supplier. Some of the wholesale companies will deal only with health-care professionals, but you can make in-roads and eventually get some good stuff. Melatonin is a natural substance - there is NO toxicity level. Most over the counter stuff is only 1 to 3 mgs, so you'll probably need to take at least 3 (times 3mg) for a total of 9mg. After taking Mealtonin for about 3 mos, I've noticed that (1) I can sleep right through a CH at night time. DON'T take Melatonin during the DAYTIME!!!! I use my other drugs when CH hits during the day. Overall, however, the daytime CHs are of less intensity and frequency.
