up to a point. Doctors are not God...they make mistakes and are always being accused of something because they are such easy targets and people tend to want to blame someone for whatever they are going through that isn't making them smile.

On the other hand, I must say doctors often get lazy when treating things they don't understand. My last trip to the ER was really bad and I told my doc, who's pretty conservative, that if someone in his family was in this much pain he would do ANYTHING to make it stop so why couldn't he give me something so I wouldn't keep ending up there? That's when I went home with a script for Stadol ns with directions to use 1 spray every 3-4 hours. Not knowing exactly what the med was, I did what I was instructed to do. That night I was alone with my kids, nodding off and waking up gasping for air (my breathing had slowed way down) because of the combo of Stadol and Demerol and whatever else they gave me at the hospital. They never said to just use as needed when the pain struck. The first thing I did the next day was look the stuff up on the internet. It didn't take long to realize that the stuff is pretty wicked but it was the only stuff to date that works at killing the pain (for me) so I can understand continuous use and the potential for addiction. I am afraid of addiction because of past experiences with various things, so I am very conscience of how I take painkillers and meds.

From what I understand, the docs hate this stuff because of potential addiction and Bristol Meyers has been trying to restrict sales (at the risk of losing a lot of money) for years. I really do not mean to sound insensitive or callous but instead of looking for info on sueing people why not look for info and ways to help heal your addiction?
