Excessive pain, stress, who knows, but after years of CH's, developed a twitch in my right eye. Did have an MRI that showed nothing so have been getting Botox injections about 6-9 month cycles for the last three years. It does work great for the twitch, my neuro is very careful with the injections as too much can cause face droop so rather have me come back in a couple of weeks if the twitch doesn't ease up. I do experience blurred close up vision for about 3 days 1 week after the injections.
I did have a bad CH cycle at the first part of this year, I can't say whether the Botox made any difference or not. I did have a wee bit of a go around with my insurance company, they tell me Botox is also used as a beauty treatment for reducing wrinkles. I am due for more injections now as it has been about seven months. My neuro is accomodating as I will ask for an injection in a spot that has been giving me problems, but not showing up during the exam. If I knew where they were injecting for CH's, would request that too.
