It had been 6 months of feeling great.
Perhaps it had gone that ugly great ape,
That tourtures & claws & inflicts great pain,
Surely it wouldn't come back again.
But one day (& still feeling great,)
Came those warning pangs that I hate,
It took 3 days for the attacks to kick in,
The beast was back for another win.
The first few weeks were just bad,
But this is not the worst I'd had,
I knew the worst was yet to come,
Screaming attacks that bring me undone.
It drilled & picked and clawed my eye,
I cried & sobbed wishing I could die,
I rocked & moaned, dug fingers into my head,
I screamed & swore and squeezed my neck instead.
Finally 8 weeks later the attacks subside,
I can't believe it - I haven't died!!
That pain puts me in a diffent space,
But again, another I know I'll face.
