...First of all let me say it's nice to find others that are going thru this.

At the ripe "old" age of 34 I don't think I'd ever had a headache till this past spring. I was involved in a accident of sorts where I suffered several broken bones in my face and a concussion. I healed up fine but started having headaches almost immediately. My orthopaedic surgeon was giving me vicoprofen for the headaches.

After about a month they passed and with the exception of a few minor headaches the next few months I had no problems.

Last month however I woke up in the middle of the night feeling as if I'd had a poker shoved thru my right eye. It was 30 minutes of the most intense pain I'd ever encountered followed by another two hours of dull ache. The following afternoon it happened again as I sat at my desk at home. It was so bad this time I literaly blacked out and fell in the floor, scaring my wife half to death.

Of course she promplty got me in to see a neurologist who ran the whole battery of test only to tell me I was either suffering from Post Concussive Syndrome or Cluster Headaches.

He prescribed Topamax graduated from 25mg to 200mg over a period of 4 weeks. He also prescribed Imitren and Lortab.

The Topamax has left me somewhat drained and at times made it hard to focus. My doctor believes that in time this will pass.

My question to you guys is, does this stuff ever just go away?

Thanks,
Doug
