Here I am again, one of the "stepchildren" of the board asking for some advice. I'm presently teetering on the edge of handling my own beast of ice picks and since I'm not getting alot of help from my neurologist since she keeps telling me we are so RARE (oh thanks doc) - I thought I'd come straight to the experts here :-)I'm presently on Neurontin, Indocin and Topamax and things are going pretty smoothly with the exception of hairloss from the Topamax I believe...but in the last month or so, I can tell that things are going to start getting nasty soon and somethings going to have to change and the doc has no clue what to do. Any suggestions? Anybody out there have experience with ice picks and have gone this route. One of my biggest concerns is I feel I having nothing to take in the way of an "abortive"...everything I take is a preventative. She keeps mentioning Maxalt - but everything I read about that is either negative or has nothing to do with ice pick headaches.
